Greetings Loyal Sons & Daughters of our beloved South Carolina State University.

First and foremost, thank you for entrusting me as the Chapter’s principal leader for the 2023 & 2024 fiscal years. I am truly honored and humbled by your selection and pledge to diligently lead the Washington DC Chapter to remain the Flagship of the South Carolina State University National Alumni Association.

I also want to thank Past President Millicent Stackhouse for her tremendous leadership during the 2020 and 2021 fiscal years. As a result, the Chapter not only survived during the COVID pandemic, it continued to thrive with a plethora of significant accomplishments.

Over the next few years, we will continue to build upon the Chapter’s decades of success. However, we will do so with greater emphasis and alignment with the alumni association’s mission and vision in supporting the University’s strategic initiatives as outlined below:

SCSUNAA Mission Statement:
South Carolina State University National Alumni Association will be an integral force of the University in supporting and reinforcing its mission, aspirations, and goals.

SCSUNAA Vision Statement:
Helping to enhance a lifetime bond with South Carolina State University – all alumni, one university, forever committed.

SCSU’s Strategic Initiatives:

Strategic Initiative 1: Ensure Fiscal Stability

Strategic Initiative 2: Enhance Student Enrollment and Success

Strategic Initiative 3: Transform the Curriculum and Research Programs

Strategic Initiative 4: Improve the Campus Environment

Strategic Initiative 5: Enhance the University Brand

Regardless of your current situation, you are perfectly postured to assist the DC Chapter in supporting these strategic initiatives. As a matter of fact, the Chapter needs you…the University needs you…our students need you. Therefore, I ask that you pledge to commit your time, your talents, and/or your finances through these simple steps:

    1. Membership: If you are not a member in good financial standing, please do so today.
    2. Provide Your Time: Get involved through participation in Chapter meetings, SCSUNAA meetings, and University activities.
    3. Provide Your Talents: Lead or actively participate in one or more committees. Bring your creative ideas in initiating new activities or modifying the execution of a recurring activity.
    4. Provide Your Funding: Be a financial contributor by donating directly to the University, donating to the Chapter, or leading/actively participating in Chapter fundraising events.

Thank you again for the opportunity to lead the Flagship of SCSUNAA. The Executive Committee and I will not let you down.

With BULLDOG TENACITY!!!
