Committees

One of the best ways to volunteer is to serve on a committee. The SCSUDC chapter has several committees available for you to consider being a part of as a member of th chapter.

Responsible for developing and executing chapter engagement programming activities.

The Finance Committee is responsible for reviewing the financial affairs of the chapter and reporting the financial condition of the chapter to the Board on a quarterly basis. This includes analyzing each month’s financial statements, monitoring budget progress, reviewing the annual proposed budget, examining financial policies, and making recommendations to the Board on fiscal policy.

The Public Relations Committee shall be responsible for delivering, via various methods, information to the general public regarding the Chapter and the university. This committee shall promote the spirit of the University and its alumni. It will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the Chapter website.

Responsible for developing resources necessary to operate the chapter and meet its University contribution goals. This includes planning, executing annual giving campaign, other fundraising activities/events, developing/maintaining the chapter budget and monitoring expenses/disbursements.

The Lew Berry Memorial Golf Classic committee organizes and executes a successful event.

The charge of the Scholarship Committee is to oversee the annual scholarship and to ensure the timely and fair disposition of scholarship funds. The committee is charged with publicizing and soliciting applications and making decisions based on the applicants' responses.

The Membership Committee is responsible for collaborating with committees, sections, special interest groups, and membership, Board and staff liaisons on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on membership recruitment, engagement and retention.

The audit committee is responsible for oversight of the financial reporting process and receipt of audit results both internal and external.

The homecoming committee plans the chapter's annual bus trip and homecoming weekend activities.

The committee is responsible for conducting outreach activities, sponsoring events that welcome new members, and promoting fellowship throughout the chapter.

The Outreach committee works cohesively with membership to develop efforts to ensure overall coordination of all community and special events

The recruitment committee is responsible for attracting alumni and recruiting them to the chapter.

Activities include:

  • Identify and directly contact potential members.
  • Develop and distribute promotional materials such as a brochure and a poster
  • Plan and oversee general recruiting efforts
  • Coordinate mailings, phone calls, matching services with the SCSUNAA staff
  • Monitor the success of each recruiting method

The Funding committee plays a central role in the application for grants supporting the chapter.

The Young Alumni Committee is an advisory and programming board for graduates of the last 10 years which works to further strengthen the relationship between young alumni and the University.

The Mental Health committee will help provide students with mental health tips and connections to a counselor.
